Water heaters

The maximum hot-water upgrade.

A water heater replacement is only as good as the install behind it. We size the unit to your household’s real hot-water demand: number of bathrooms, fixture count, simultaneous use, rather than defaulting to whatever was there before, because the previous unit was often undersized to begin with.

Every installation includes the required safety and code components for the conditions on site, correct venting, appropriate gas or electrical connections, a properly charged thermal expansion tank where the system is closed, drain-pan and discharge routing, seismic or strapping requirements where applicable, and shutoff valves you can actually reach in an emergency.

We haul the old unit away, verify operating temperature and pressure before we leave, and walk you through the maintenance schedule that keeps the manufacturer warranty intact.

FAQ

Water Heater Installation FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us most about this service.

Should I choose a tank or a tankless water heater?

It depends on hot-water demand, your gas or electrical capacity, available space, venting routes, and water quality. Tank units cost less up front and are simpler; tankless units deliver continuous hot water and last longer but need adequate gas supply and periodic descaling. We look at your actual setup before recommending either.

What size water heater do I need?

It is driven by peak simultaneous demand rather than square footage. Bathroom count, tub size, laundry and dishwasher overlap, and how many people shower back-to-back all factor in. We calculate it during the estimate.

Do you install water heaters I purchase myself?

Yes, when the unit is compatible with the site conditions. Note that our warranty covers our labor but does not extend to customer-supplied materials.

Do I need an expansion tank?

If your home is on a closed system, common where there is a pressure-reducing valve or a backflow preventer on the water service, then yes. Without one, thermal expansion drives up system pressure and shows up as relief-valve discharge and premature failures.
