Our commitment to accessible plumbing information

MAX Plumbing serves homeowners and businesses throughout Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Lewisville, Advance, Bermuda Run, Mocksville, Kernersville, and surrounding areas of the North Carolina Triad.

This website is designed so the same information stays usable with a keyboard, screen reader, reduced motion settings, and other assistive technology, including information about plumbing repairs, water heaters, drains and sewer, filtration, main water lines, gas lines, well systems, backflow, sump and sewer pumps, service areas, and online booking.

For plumbing service, scheduling, estimates, or questions about your home or business, call MAX Plumbing at 336-814-8844.

Who builds and maintains the MAX Plumbing website

MAX Plumbing is responsible for the plumbing services, recommendations, scheduling, and customer care represented on this website.

The MAX Plumbing website is designed, developed, and maintained by Koford Media, a North Carolina website design and digital marketing agency.

Koford Media handles the technical implementation of this website, including custom web development, responsive design, accessibility features, technical SEO, structured data, performance, and ongoing website maintenance.

That separation is intentional.

How Koford Media builds this site

How this website is built

The MAX Plumbing website is custom developed by Koford Media using modern web technology rather than relying on an accessibility overlay to correct an otherwise inaccessible website.

Koford Media builds accessibility into the website itself through semantic HTML, keyboard-accessible controls, visible focus states, responsive layouts, readable content structure, alternative text, reduced-motion support, and related practices.

The website is developed toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is ongoing. When barriers are identified, Koford Media addresses the technical work.

The Koford Standard

This website is built and maintained under The Koford Standard, Koford Media's approach to accountable website design, development, accessibility, performance, and post-launch support.

  • Custom website development for the actual business
  • Clear ownership and attribution (Koford Media for the site; MAX Plumbing for the trade)
  • Accessible controls built into the website
  • Technical SEO incorporated into development
  • Continued website maintenance after launch by Koford Media
  • A real contact for reporting website problems: zack@kofordmedia.com
  • No dependence on an accessibility overlay as a substitute for good development

More detail lives on Koford Media's site and in the Koford Media FAQ.

Access control

Accessibility controls

The Access button in the MAX Plumbing website header and mobile navigation provides optional display and interaction settings. You do not need them to use the website.

  • Increase text size
  • Increase visual contrast
  • Underline links
  • Reduce or stop animation
  • Strengthen keyboard focus indicators
  • Use a more distinguishable typeface
  • Prevent videos from automatically playing
  • Enable seizure-safe settings
  • Increase letter and word spacing
  • Increase the target size of buttons and links
  • Reduce the width of long paragraphs

Preferences are stored locally in your browser on that device. Koford Media implements and maintains these controls.

What each accessibility setting does

Larger text

Increases the website's base text size to make content easier to read.

Stronger colors

Increases contrast between text, backgrounds, borders, and other interface elements.

Underline links

Adds visible underlines so links are not identified by color alone.

Stop moving things

Reduces or disables decorative animation, smooth scrolling, hover animation, and other nonessential movement. The motion stack includes GSAP and Lenis. Koford Media wires reduced-motion support into those systems.

Thicker keyboard outline

Creates a more prominent focus indicator around buttons, links, form fields, and other interactive controls when navigating by keyboard.

Dyslexia-friendly letters

Changes typography to Atkinson Hyperlegible so individual characters are easier to distinguish.

Do not play videos until I press play

Prevents supported website videos from automatically playing. Videos remain available through a manual play control. All site video audio stays muted by default; Koford Media does not offer an unmute control on this website.

Seizure-safe mode

Disables supported flashing effects, autoplay, looping movement, and decorative animation. It also enables reduced-motion and manual-video settings.

Extra spacing between letters

Increases letter spacing, word spacing, and line height to improve text readability.

Bigger buttons and links

Increases the minimum target size of supported links and buttons for touchscreens and other input methods.

Shorter lines of text

Limits the width of longer paragraphs so readers do not track text across unusually wide screens.

Keyboard, screen readers, and motion

Keyboard navigation

Primary navigation, links, forms, service pages, accessibility controls, and other major interactive elements are designed to be reachable with a keyboard. Visible focus indicators show the selected element. A Skip to main content link near the start of each page bypasses repeated navigation.

Screen readers and page structure

Semantic structure is used wherever practical so assistive technologies can understand headings, navigation, buttons, links, forms, images, and content. Informative images should include appropriate alternative text. Decorative graphics may use empty alternative text. Report misinterpreted controls or sections to Koford Media.

Reduced motion and video

Some pages contain animation or video that shows plumbing work or completed projects. Reduced motion can be enabled through Access controls or compatible browser and operating-system preferences. Supported autoplay can wait until you press play. Video on this site stays muted by default.

Third parties and cookies

Third-party services

Some functionality is provided by third parties (booking, communication, Google reviews, analytics, maps). Koford Media controls how those services are integrated but may not control every accessibility characteristic of the third-party software. If a third-party tool blocks you, tell Koford Media what happened. When practical, another path to the information or task will be identified.

Cookies and accessibility

You can use the primary MAX Plumbing website if you decline optional cookies.

  • Always available: service information, service areas, click-to-call, contact information, request-service forms, and online booking links.
  • May stay unloaded until consent: Google Analytics, live Google review integrations, or certain communication widgets.

Declining optional cookies does not prevent you from contacting MAX Plumbing or reading primary plumbing information on this website.

Reporting and response

Reporting an accessibility problem

If something on maxplumbing-nc.com makes it difficult or impossible to access information, navigate, or request service, tell Koford Media.

Website accessibility reports: zack@kofordmedia.com

When possible, include:

  • The page you were visiting
  • What you were trying to do
  • What went wrong
  • Your browser and device
  • Any screen reader or assistive technology you were using

For plumbing questions, appointments, estimates, emergency concerns, or service requests, contact MAX Plumbing at 336-814-8844 or service@maxplumbing-nc.com.

Our response to accessibility reports

Koford Media aims to acknowledge website accessibility reports within 5 business days and address feasible barriers within 15 business days.

Issues involving third-party booking systems, communication tools, review platforms, or other external software may need more time or coordination. These timeframes are voluntary service goals for maintaining the MAX Plumbing website and are not representations of a statutory requirement.

Accessibility is part of maintaining the site

A plumbing company's website should help people understand their options and reach the company. For MAX Plumbing, accessibility is part of that job. As services, pages, media, and technology change, Koford Media continues technical review. When a barrier is identified, there is a clear path to Koford Media for the website fix and to MAX Plumbing for plumbing service.
