Main lines

Big problem. MAX solution.

The main water line is the single pipe that supplies everything on the property. When it fails, the symptoms show up everywhere at once, pressure drops throughout the house, the water bill climbs without explanation, and a soft or unusually green stretch of yard appears over the buried line.

We repair and replace underground water service lines, restoring dependable pressure and stopping the water loss that a slow underground leak quietly runs up month after month. Where the existing line is galvanized, undersized, or a material known to fail, replacement usually makes more sense than repeated repairs on a pipe that will fail again somewhere else.

We work to keep disruption to a minimum where site conditions allow, define the excavation footprint before starting, and are direct about what restoration is and is not included in the scope.

Problems we solve

What this solves

If any of these sound familiar, you are in the right place.

  • Low water pressure throughout the entire property
  • Water bill increasing with no change in usage
  • Wet, soft, or unusually green areas in the yard
  • Visible underground water leak
  • Aging or deteriorated water service piping
  • Complete loss of water service
  • Undersized service line starving the house at peak demand

FAQ

Main Water Line Repair & Replacement FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us most about this service.

How do I know the leak is in the main line and not inside the house?

A classic sign is a meter that keeps turning with every fixture in the house off, combined with a wet area in the yard along the line’s path. We verify before recommending excavation.

Why is my water pressure low everywhere in the house?

Common causes are a failing pressure-reducing valve, a partially closed or failed main shutoff, corrosion narrowing an old galvanized service line, or an underground leak. Each is tested differently, which is why diagnosis comes first.

Who is responsible for the water line, me or the utility?

Generally the utility owns up to the meter and the property owner owns the line from the meter to the house. That means the buried service line on your side is your responsibility.

How long does a main water line replacement take?

It depends on length, depth, soil, obstacles, and whether permits and utility locates are required. We give a realistic timeline with the estimate rather than a best-case one.
